报告人简介:

李业平教授毕业于美国匹茨堡大学,现为美国德克萨斯A&M大学教学与文化系正教授, 博导. 主要从事数学教育、教师教育和STEM教育研究。近十年(2008年以来)出版发表学术著作12部,主编学术杂志专刊4期,发表论文100余篇。 他担任国际《教学和教师教育之前沿》(Advances in Teaching and Teacher Education, Brill|Sense 出版)书系主编也和国际著名学术出版社Springer出版社合作,首创并主编新的国际学术研究杂志《国际STEM教育学报》(International Journal of STEM Education,2014)和《STEM教育研究学报》(Journal for STEM Education Research,2018)和新的STEM教育书系《STEM教育前沿》(Advances in STEM Education)。这些出版物使Springer进一步成为国际上STEM教育出版发行的先驱,也为提升STEM教育领域的国际化学术发展提供了优质的平台。

报告摘要:

The emerging field of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics; later also STEAM, STREAM, etc.) education presents some fascinating opportunities for transforming school education, not only due to the fact that STEM is important for students’ learning now and in the future. Historically, STEM education as disciplinary-based education has long been in place with a focus on mathematics and science. Recent calls for a broader focus on STEM education have generated more and more interest in exploring and understanding different forms and approaches of this movement in many education systems around the world. Correspondingly, research development in STEM education has experienced dramatic changes over the past decade, providing much-needed scholarship support to further STEM education within and across education systems.In this talk, I will provide a brief review of research development in STEM education with a survey of selected journal publications, and discuss the status and development trends presented in literature.
